For the first time since 2008 the Boston Red Sox are playing in the American League Championship Series and will play either the Detroit Tigers or Oakland Athletics beginning on Saturday, October 12th. Detroit and Oakland will play in Game 5, the deciding game, tomorrow, Thursday October 10th. By having the best record in the American Leage, the Red Sox won the right to have home field advantage, and the American League Championship Series is a 2-3-2 format.

The Red Sox won last night 3-1. I have to admit, I was very nervous, especially after they had knocked out the Tampa Bay starter in the second inning and had bases loaded, with no out, and they didn't score. But in true Boston fashion, they came back after trailing 1-0, and won 3-1.

Here's Dave O'Brien's call of the final out in case you missed it as it happened after 11 PM

Remember you can hear the Red Sox games on AM 1370 WDEA. The magic number for the Red Sox to win the World Series is 8!
