MDI Boys Too Much For Caribou 72-48 [Box Score/Photos/Recap]
The MDI Boys Basketball Team jumped out to a 18-8 1st Quarter lead and never looked back, beating the Caribou Vikings 72-48 on Friday, January 26th at Bernard Parady Gymnasium in Bangor.
In the 1st Quarter Drew Shea drained 2 3-pointers for 6 points for MDI. Owen Mild had 4 points, Derek Collin had 3 points, Dane Vanzura and Colby Lee each had 2 points and Andrew Phelps 1 point for the Trojans.For Caribou Nick Allen had 4 points, Isaac Mercer and Alex Bouchard had 2 points each.
In the 2nd Quarter MDI outscored Caribou 18-17 to take a 36-25 lead at the end of the 1st Half. Shea had 5 points with his 3rd 3-pointer of the night. Derek Collin was a perfect 4-4 from the free throw line. Mild had 4 points, Phelps 3 points and Eli Parady 2 points for the Trojans. For Caribou Bouchard had 6 points with a 3-pointer, Marker 4 points with a 3-pointer and Jake Berkoski, Parker Deprey and Sawyer Deprey 2 points each. Jacob Paul had 1 point.
In the 3rd Quarter MDI outscored Caribou 22-12 to increase their lead to 58-37. Finn McConomy scoreless in the 1st Half drained 2 3-pointers. Phelps had 6 points, Shea 4 points. Colby Lee drained a 3-pointer, Derek Collin 2 points and Eli Parady 1 point. Caribou receive 3-pointers from Jake Berkoski and Parker Deprey. They also had 2 points each from Alex Bouchard, Sawyer Deprey and Mason Patten.
In the 4th Quarter Eli Parady had 8 points, Alden Fournier 3 points, Brett Duley 2 points and Derek Collin and Eli Merchant 1 point each. Caribou in the 4th Quarter received 3-pointers from Alex Bouchard adn Jake Berkoski while Mason Patten had 5 points.
MDI had 4 players in double figures. Drew Shea had 15 points, and Andrew Phelps, Derek Collin and Eli Parady each had 10 points. The Trojans were 12-21 from the free throw line.
Caribou was led by Alex Bouchard with 13 points and Jake Berkoski had 8 points. The Vikings were 6-11 from the free throw line.
MDI now 10-2 will play host to Presque Isle on Saturday, January 27th at 2:30 in a game that will be broadcast on AM 1370 WDEA, WDEA Internet Radio, on our free downloadable APP and on any Alexa enabled device
Caribou now 5-9 plays at Ellsworth on Saturday, January 27th at 2:30.
