MDI Boys Beat MCI 59-55

The MDI Boys used a 3rd Quarter 14-4 run to beat the MCI Huskies in Pittsfield 59-55 on Saturday, January 4th avenging a 58-55 loss on December 21st.

MCI jumped out to a 14-12 lead at the end of the 1st Quarter. Owen Williams had 7 points for the Huskies, with a 3-pointer. Gavin McArthur, had a 3-pointer and Caleb Willis and Isaac Bussell each had 2 points. For MDI Jack DaCorte had 4 points while Cadin Lunt, Nate Philbrook, Will Hodgdon and Porter Isaacs each had 2 points.

In the 2nd Quarter, MCI outscored MDI 22-19 to take a 36-31 lead at the end of the 1st Half. Owen Williams led the way for MCI with 6 points with a 3-pointer. Harrison Sites had 5 points. Gavin McArthur had 5 points with a 3-pointer. Domenic Wilson had 4 points with a 3-pointer and Ryan Friend had 2 points. For MDI Erik Merchant and Porter Isaacs each had 4 points. Brady Renault had 4 points, making 2-3 free throws with just .0.2 left in the Half. Nate Philbrook had 3 points and Charlie Parker and Will Hodgdon each had 2 points.

In the 3rd Quarter, MDI's 14-4 run game then a 45-40 lead at the end of the 3rd Quarter. Charlie Parker had 5 points for MDI with a 3-pointer. Porter Isaacs had 4 points. Nate Philbrook had 3 points and Jack DaCorte had 2 points. The Huskies didn't make a field goal, scoring their points in Quarter from the free throw line. Isaac Bussell was 2-2 from free throw line, and Wilson and Willis were each 1-2.

In the 4th Quarter Jack Dacorte led MDI with 6 points going 4-4 from the free throw line. Nate Philbrook and Brady Renault each had 4 points for MDI. For MCI Williams had 6 points, with a 3-pointer. Harrison Sites had 5 points and Caleb Willis and Ryan Friend each had 2 points.

MDI placed 3 players in double figures. Jack DaCorte and Nate Philbrook each had 12 points while Porter Isaacs had 10 points. MDI was 8-16 from the free throw line

MCI was led by Owen Williams with 19 points while Harrison Site had 10 points. The Huskies were 9-19 from the free throw line.

MDI improved to 4-4 and will play host to Hermon on Tuesday, January 7th at 7 p.m. That game will be broadcast on AM 1370 WDEA, on WDEA Internet Radio, on our free downloadable APP and on any Alexa enabled device

MCI is now 5-3 and will play host to Oceanside on Tuesday, January 7th at 6:30 p.m.
