Former EHS Eagle Sarah Marckoon Named Asst Volleyball Coach at St. Joseph’s College
Congratulations to 2008 Ellsworth High School graduate Sarah Marckoon who was named Assistant Volleyball Coach at St. Joseph's College in Standish on August 16th
Sarah played volleyball at Ellsworth High School and thanks to Coach Mike Kelley learned to love the game. She was a Senior All-Star. In addition to playing volleyball, she also played softball for three years as well as a year on the EHS Swim and Cheering Team
She played volleyball at Thomas College for 2 years and was named to the All-Conference Team, prior to Thomas dropping the program. She also played lacrosse and tennis. Marckoon graduated from Thomas College with a Masters in Business Administration in 2013
She has been coaching volleyball since 2014 at Windham and South Portland High Schools. Last year South Portland lost to Scarborough in the State Class A finals.
She is now Assistant under the former Scarborough coach, Jon Roberts.
Volleyball runs in the Marckoon family, as mom, Bonnie, is the coach at George Stevens Academy and dad, Stu, is a long time volleyball referee in Eastern Maine
