MDI Softball Beats Ellsworth 10-0 [PHOTOS]

The MDI Softball Team beat Ellsworth 10-0 in the final game of the regular season, on Tuesday, June 2nd at Ellsworth High School.

Ellsworth had a tough day in the field, committing 8 errors.

Ella Watson picked up the win allowing 3 hits and striking out 11 while walking 2. Watson helped herself at the plate going 2-3, with a home run and driving in 2 runs. She was on base a total of 4 times, walking twice, and scoring 4 runs.

Cam Clough took the loss for the Eagles. She allowed 6 hits and 10 runs, but just 3 of them were earned. She struck out 13 and walked 5.

Greenlee Harmon had a double, hitting a long fly ball to left field, that nearly cleared the fence. Jovi Nightingale and Cam Clough each singled

Clough had a stolen base for Ellsworth.

Grace Hodgdon had 4  hits, including a double, driving in 3 runs for the Trojans. Addy Dowsland had a double. Cate Brown had a pair of hits for MDI. Alahna Terry had 2 stolen bases for MDI . Brown and Hodgdon each had a stolen base.

MDI finishes the regular season with a 8-8 record and will finish in 10th place, the last qualifying spot for the playoffs, and will have to play in a prelim game against Presque Isle on the road.

Ellsworth finishes the regular season with a 8-8 record, having lost 5 games in a row. They will finish in 6th place and will have a quarterfinal matchup with the #3 seed, likely to be Belfast or Old Town.
