Ellsworth Shuts Out Hermon 5-0
The Ellsworth Eagles Boy's Soccer team improved to 2-0 on the season with a 5-0 victory over Hermon on Tuesday evening, in a game played in Ellsworth.
Ellsworth's first goal was unassisted and scored by Matt Curtis with 3:50 remaining in the first half .
In the second half, Ellsworth scored 4 times. Colby Clarke scored at 27:41 with no assist. Alex Braley scored at 10:22 with no assist. Colby Clarke notched his second goal of the game with an assist from Alex Braley at 9:46 and Sam Giffin scored the last goal at 9:01.
Bruce St. Peter recorded the shutout in goal for Ellsworth, turning away 5 shots. Garret Kipler played the first 70 minutes in goal for Hermon and had 10 saves. Jordan Potter played the last 10 minutes in goal for the Hawks and had 2 saves.
Ellsworth 2-0 plays at Old Town on Thursday, September 10th at 3:30 PM. Hermon 1-1 hosts Foxcroft Academy on Thursday September 10th at 6 PM.
