Ellsworth High School will begin offering bus service to and from Blue Hill for any Union 93 Students who are attending Ellsworth High School beginning with the Fall 2025 school year.

Families in Grades 9-12 who live in the Union 93 School District have school choice for High School. Union 93 serves the towns of Blue Hill, Brooksville, Castine, Penobscot, and Surry.

The bus to Ellsworth High School will pick students up at 6:40 at Tradewinds in Blue Hill. If there is a need the bus will make a stop at Pugnuts Ice Cream Shop in Surry. In the afternoon the bus will pick students up and drop them off at Pugnuts (if necessary) and at Tradewinds in Blue Hill.

Hancock Technical Center students living in Blue Hill and Surry may take the bus to Ellsworth High School and transfer to the HCTC bus.

Amy Boles, the Superintendent of the Ellsworth School Department said "We are excited to offer this opportunity to our many families from the peninsula. This has been requested and talked about for many years. We are indebted to Head Bus Driver Mike Cummings and his staff for making this come to fruition behind the scenes.'

Ellsworth High School begins the 2025-26 year on Friday, August 29th. The 1st day for students in K-9 grades is on Thursday, August 28th.
