Ellsworth Falls to Orono 54-37 [PHOTOS]

The Ellsworth Boy's Basketball Team fell to the Orono Red Riots Saturday night, January 21st in Orono 54-37.

Orono jumped out to a 13-7 lead at the end of the 1st Quarter. Jackson Coutts had 5 points including a 3-pointers, Connor Robertson had 4 points, and Keenan Collett and Nate Desisto were 2-2 from the free throw line. For Ellsworth Dylan Taplin had 5 points including a 3-pointer while Bryce Harmon had 2 points.

Orono took a 7 point lead at the end of the 1st Half 25-18. For Orono Johnathan Steelman and Connor Robertson each had a 3-pointer while Jake Koffman, Jonny Spencer and Keenan Collett had 2 points each. For Ellsworth Bradly Smith and Jackson Curtis each had 3-pointers, Jared Hamilton had 3 points and Zach Harris was 2-2 from the free throw line.

Ellsworth cut the lead to 6 points 36-30 at the end of the 3rd Quarter. Jackson Curtis had 2 3-pointers, Andrew McCullough had a 3-pointer and Bryce Harmon had 3 points for Ellsworth. For Orono Keenan Collett had 5 points, while Jackson Coutts and Jake Koffman had 3 points each.

In the 4th Quarter, Orono went 11-17 from the free throw line to seal the victory. Jonathan Steelman had 5 points going 5-8 from the free throw line. Connor Robertson had 3 points, Jonny Spencer had 3 points going 3-4 from the free throw line. Mark Lucy, Schyler Cyr and Keenan Collett had 2 points each and Jackson Coutts was 1-2 from the free throw line. For Ellsworth, Zach Harris had 4 points and Jackson Curtis was 3-4 from the free throw line.

Ellsworth was led by Jackson Curtis with 12 points while Zach Harris had 6 points. Ellsworth was 7-13 from the free throw line.

Orono was led by Keenan Collette with 11 points, while Connor Robertson had 10 points. Orono was 17-26 from the free throw line.

Ellsworth is now 6-6 and will play up in Aroostook County on Friday, January 27th at Caribou and Saturday January 28th at Presque Isle at 2:30 PM.

Orono is now 9-3 and will play host to Old Town on Thursday January 26th at 7 PM.
