Ellsworth Boys Top MCI 55-36

The 3-point rule was established in Maine High Schools in 1988 and to the best of everyone's recollections the 3-point record in a Ellsworth Boys Basketball Game now belongs to Darby Barry, after he drained 8 3's in Saturday's win at home against MCI, 55-36.

Barry had 4 3's in the 1st Quarter, 2 3's in the 2nd Quarter and 2 3's in the 3rd Quarter. He was 8-13 shooting 3's while playing 26 minutes.

Barry had 12 points in the 1st Quarter, while Jackson Curtis had 7 points including a 3-pointer, as Ellsworth raced out to a 19-7 lead. Harrison Sites had 4 points for the Huskies while Gavin McArthur had a 3-pointer.

Ellsworth outscored MCI 15-9 in the 2nd Quarter to take a 34-16 lead at the end of the 1st Half. J'Von James had 6 points for Ellsworth. Berry had 2 more 3's for 6 points and Jackson Curtis was 3-4 from the free throw line. For MCI Owen Williams had 6 points and Dom Wilson 3 points.

In the 3rd Quarter each team scored 8 points and Ellsworth led 42-24 at the end of the 3rd Quarter. Barry had all of the Eagle's points, including his last 2 3's. For MCI Owen Williams had 6 points and Dom Wilson 2 points.

In the 4th Quarter Gavin McArthur drained 3 3's to pace MCI. Williams had 2 more points and Caleb Willis was 1-2 from the free throw line. For Ellsworth, Jackson Curtis had 4 points. Hunter Curtis had 4 points while Adam Inman and Barry each had 2 points. Andrew Rideout was 1-2 from the free throw line.

Darby Barry led all scorers with a game high 28 while Jackson Curtis had 14 points. Ellsworth was 6-11 from the free throw line

For MCI Owen Williams had 1 points while Gavin McArthur had 12 points. The Huskies were 2-4 from the free throw line.

Ellsworth is now 7-2 and will play host to Hermon on Wednesday, January 15th at 7 p.m. in a game that will be broadcast on AM 1370 WDEA, on WDEA Internet Radio, on our free downloadable APP and on any Alexa enabled device

MCI is now 7-4 and will play host to Maranacook on Tuesday, January 14th at 6:30 p.m.
