Washington Academy Raiders Claim Class C Northern Maine Title With 4-0 Win

The #1 Washington Academy Raiders beat #2 Mattanawcook Academy 4-0 in the Class C Northern Maine Regional Finals on Tuesday, June 16th at Mansfield Stadium in Bangor.

The 2 teams had split the regular season series.

Trevor Shimabukuro picked up the win for the Raiders. He pitched 6.1 innings allowing just 4 hits and striking out 11. He didn't walk a batter. James Welch retired the final 2 batters of the game, striking out both batters.

Will Ferguson had a double and drove in a run. Daniel Gardner had a triple. Shimabukuro helped himself at the plate with a single. Welch had a single and drove in a run. Parker Cates and Chase Cates each had a single for Washington Academy.

Colby Moholland, James Welch and Trevor Shimabukuro each had a stolen base.

Avery Jordan took the loss for the Lynx. He pitched the complete game allowing 7 hits and 4 runs, striking out 3 and walking 7.

True Weatherbee, Noah Phelps, Cameron Thompson and Max Fitch each had singles for the Lynx.

Washington Academy will now play Monmouth Academy on Saturday, June 20th in the Class C State Title Game at Mansfield Stadium at 1 p.m.
