The Ellsworth Boys Soccer Team battled Hampden Academy to a 2-2 draw after double overtime on Friday, October 9th at Hampden Academy.

Ellsworth with just 32 seconds elapsed as Colin Lacasse put the Eagles up 1-0. The score remained 1-0 at the end of the 1st Half as the Eagles outshot the Broncos 9-2.

In the 2nd Half, with 38:05 remaining, a Bronco player was dragged down in the goalie box, and Hampden was awarded a penalty kick. Brennan Phillips drove the shot to the left side of the goal on the ground, and Ellsworth goalie Hunter Curtis guessed correctly diving and looked to stop the shot, but the ball crossed the goal line to tie the score at 1-1.

With 33:22 remaining in the 2nd Half, Ellsworth took a 2-1 lead as Lacasse scored his 2nd goal of the game, heading in a crossing pass from Pascal Poirier.

Hampden Academy tied the game with 20 minutes remaining, when Marc Fachol scored.

The game was deadlocked after regulation 2-2.

Hampden Academy had the better opportunities in the 1st 5 minute sudden death overtime, but the score remained 2-2.

In the 2nd 5 minute sudden death overtime Ellsworth controlled the pace and had a few chances, but the game ended in a 2-2 draw.

Elllsworth outshot Hampden Academy 21-8.

Hunter Curtis played in goal for Ellsworth while Cooper Moran was in goal for the Broncos.

Ellsworth is now 3-1 and will play at home against George Stevens Academy on Wednesday, October 14th at 6 p.m.
