This is a cause that is so near and dear to my heart! My older son is a huge baseball fan, he's also in a wheelchair, and when he was little he used a walker. If you have a son/daughter, or know someone who has special needs or physical disabilities, then please make sure they know about this!

The Down East Family YMCA in Ellsworth is starting a Challenger Little League beginning this Saturday, September 19th! They are accepting children aged 4-18 years old (or 22 if still in school) to join the DEFY fun and relaxed little League Challenger Division.  Each child will have the opportunity to learn about the sport of baseball in a positive and secure environment and play with others at a level they are comfortable with. This a no obligation program and is free of charge to all participants. Being a part of the Challenger Division can help your child build confidence, maintain flexibility and provide a social opportunity for children and their parents.  Players will have a one on one buddy on the field that will help them build not only baseball skills but a friendship skills as well.  Opening Day will be September 19th from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Demyer Field in Ellsworth.
