Wicked Witch of Winterport Swindles Naive Red Sox Fans Out of Millions

The Great Council of Witches has convened in Maine for an emergency meeting to deal with allegations that the Wicked Witch of Winterport has fleeced thousands of Red Sox fan throughout New England out of over two million dollars.

Bronkzaylia, the only Wicked Witch known to reside in Maine, has been accused of selling charms, spells, and potions that are guaranteed to make the Red Sox win the World Series this year.  Sales of those items have increased exponentially since Boston’s Opening Day victory over the New York Yankees.

“This has been an unfortunate episode perpetrated by one Wicked Witch, which will now have unfortunate ramifications for Witches throughout the world,” a Council Member explained to this Modern Philosopher.  “People will stereotype all Witches as wicked, when that is the furthest thing from the truth.  Honestly, a lot of the blame lies with the muggles here.  How can any one person, let alone thousands, believe that there exists a magic powerful enough to turn the Boston Red Sox into champions?”
