Ellsworth Football Names New Football Coach

For the first time the Ellsworth Football team will have a new head coach, with Dave Svec taking over for Duane Crawford who resigned after the 2019 season. Crawford had been the head coach for 10 years since the program was restarted at Ellsworth High School.

Dave Svec was a youth football coach with the Ellsworth Football League from 2013 to 2015 and was a volunteer coach for the Ellsworth High School team during 2016 and 2017 seasons.

On Tuesday, July 21st the Maine Principal's Association announced that the start of the 2020 Athletic Season would be delayed., with the 1st countable games starting no sooner than Tuesday, September 8th. The Football Committee is looking at playing 6 games (down from a normal 8) in 7 weeks.

Ellsworth will be playing in the Large School 8-man Football League
