Just under 200 people gathered at Ellsworth City Hall Plaza on Saturday night, November 27th for the Christmas Tree Lighting.

There was complimentary hot cocoa and treats and singers from The Grand led everyone in carols before the 25 foot tree was lit. The tree has 8000 lights, and was strung by the members of the Ellsworth Fire Department.

It was mentioned that the Ellsworth ladder truck can go as high as 60 feet when fully extended, and there was talk that next year's tree would put the ladder truck through it's paces!

Children can place their letter to Santa in the Express Mailbox next to the tree

Check out photos from the night, and the video from the lighting.
