Mangold Honors NYPD Officers

New York Jet center Nick Mangold ran onto the field yesterday in the game against the New England Patriots, wearing a NYPD cap. The NYPD cap, was in honor of the two New York Police Department patrol officers who were slain on Saturday, execution style. Officers Rafael Ramos and Wenjian Liu were shot and killed in by Ismaaiyl Brinsley in Brooklyn Saturday.

Mangold, wearing the NYPD cap, is in marked contrast to other football players and NBA basketball players who have worn shirts or sneakers with the sayings "Hands Up" and "I Can't Breathe" in reference to Michael Brown and Eric Garner.
