MDI Celebrates the 2023-24 8-Man Large School Football State Champions [PHOTOS]

Prior to the MDI-Orono Boy's Basketball game on Tuesday, January 23rd, the MDI High School Community celebrated the 2023-24 MDI High School Football Team, the 1st ever State Championship Team!

The evening started with a presentation of a check for $2000 from the Gott Family to Athletic Director Bunky Dow for the Athletic Booster Fund.

Then it was on to the presentations! The Northern Maine 8-man Regional Championship Banner was presented as well as the State Championship Banner!

The Campbell Conference individual awards were presented. Spencer Laurendeau was announced as the Player of the Year!

Bunky Dow also acknowledged that there were members of the 2023-24 Orono High School Football Team on the Red Riots' Basketball Team. Orono won the 8-Man Small School State Championship!
