Haney to Be Inducted Into GSA Athletics Hall of Fame

MDI Principal Matt Haney, a graduate of George Stevens Academy in Blue Hill, Class of 1994 will be inducted into the newly formed GSA Athletics Hall of Fame, as part of the inaugural Hall of Fame Class on Saturday, April 28th.

Haney, who has been the Principal at MDI High School for the last 5 years and was the Assistant Principal for 8 years prior to that. He graduated from UMaine in 1998 and played on the UMaine Baseball Team from 1995-1998 as an outfielder and catcher. He was an assistant coach at UMaine 1999-2001.

While at George Stevens Academy Matt was the captain of the Baseball Team that played in the 1994 State Championship Game. He also played soccer and basketball and was a Senior Baseball All-Star.
