Orono Softball Beats MDI 5-2 in Preseason Game

The Orono Red Riots Softball Team beat MDI 5-2 in a preseason game on Wednesday, April 15th in Bar Harbor.

The game was scoreless thru 6 innings before Orono scored 5 runs in the top of the 7th inning, with MDI answering with 2 runs in the bottom of the 7th.

Jillian Severance was in the circle for Orono and pitched the complete game picking up the win. She allowed 5 hits, and 2 runs, striking out 14 and waking 6.

Ella Watson pitched for MDI. She allowed 6 hits and 5 runs, 2 of which were earned. She struck out 15 and walked 6.

Alahna Terry was 2-3 for MDI with a double and drove in a run. Cate Brown was 2-4. Ella Watson, and Genevieve Lapointe each singled.

Severance helped herself at the plate, going 2-4 with a double and triple. Isabella Pardilla was 1-2.

MDI will open the regular season at home on Thursday April 30th  when they will play at Old Town at 4:30 p.m.

Orono will open the regular season on Friday, April 24th at 1 p.m. at Bucksport.
