The MDI Trojans lost to the Hermon Hawks 7-2 in the team's opening game of the 2026 season, in Bar Harbor on Saturday, April 25th.

Mason Kinney picked up the win for the Hawks. Pitching a complete game he allowed just 1 hit, striking out 17 and walking 4.

Kinney helped himself at the plate, going 2-3 with a run batted in. Tommy Meserve  was 2-3 with a double and run batted in. Edgar Leclerc had a double and drove in 2 runs. Eli Cormier had a single and drove in 2 runs. Sam Hopkins had a single.

The Hawks stole 6 bases with Cam Morrison and Leclrerc each swiping 2 baes and Hopkins and Meserve each stealing 1 base.

Colin Sullivan started on the mound for Trojans. He went 4.0 innings allowing 3 hits and 5 runs, 3 of which were earned. He struck out 10 and walked 2. Preston Tripp pitched the final 3.0 innings allowing 4 hits and 2 runs, striking out 5 and not allowing a walk.

MDI's lone hit came off of the bat of Charles Ricardo.

Alister Frongillo, Colin Sullivan, Mason Lapointe and Spencer Grierson each had a stolen base for the Trojans.

MDI is 0-1. They will play host to Foxcroft Academy on Tuesday, April 28th at 4:30 p.m.

Hermon is 1-0. They will play host to Old Town on Tuesday, April 28th at 4:30 p.m.
