Two hours on Wednesday night, February 1st could save your life and the life of your loved ones! The MDI Adult and Community Education Department is offering a FREE Home Fire Safety Course Wednesday, February 1st from 6:30 to 8:30 PM.

The course is being taught by Bar Harbor Fire Chief Matt Bartlett. Chief Bartlett  is a lifelong resident of Bar Harbor and has been with Department for 26 years, serving as Chief the last four. He has an Associated Degree in Fire Science, holds a certification as a fire instructor as well as State of Maine Firefighter I and II and Proboard Certified Fire Officer I & II

This class will cover a variety of home fire safety tips. Ranging from the benefits of a residential sprinkler system, safe home woodburning, smoke detectors, storage of combustible materials, danger of home candles, and other fire hazards in the home.
