The Mount Desert Elementary School Parent Teacher Organization invites you to the Startlight Moon Bright Silent Auction this Saturday, November 9th from 6 to 10 PM at the Neighborhood House in Northeast Harbor.
The 18th Annual MDI Marathon will take place Sunday, October 20th and begins in downtown Bar Harbor and will end in Southwest Harbor. Drivers in the area should exercise caution and be prepared for delays as runners and spectators will be on the course. Early runners will be on the course at 8 AM!

159 Middle School boys competed at the Parker Pruitt Invitational on Monday, September 30th at Sumner Memorial High School. The Ellsworth Middle School Boys finished 1st in the 1.9 mile race with Mount Desert Elementary School finishing 2nd.
The Bar Harbor Fire Department was toned out on Tuesday night, September 24th for a reported structure fire at 120 Schooner Head Road. The residents saw smoke from what they believed to be a lightning strike to the chimney.
There is a brother(sister)hood among fire and police officers. When one is injured, all feel the pain. This has never been more evident this year, with the loss of Captain Michael Bell of the Farmington Fire Department and Maine State Police Detective Ben Campbell.
