Ellsworth Girls Top Lawrence 53-48

The Ellsworth Girls Basketball Team beat the Lawrence Bulldogs Wednesday night, December 4th in the final preseason tune-up for both teams. The Eagles won 53-48 in Fairfield.

Lawrence led 8-7 at the end of the 1st Quarter, but Ellsworth outscored Lawrence 16-12 in the 2nd Quarter to take a 23-20 lead at the end of the 1st Half. Ellsworth extended their lead 38-25 at the end of the 3rd Quarter.

Ellsworth was led by Trinity Montigny with 27 points including 4 3-pointers. Jocelyn Jordan had 9 points. The Eagles were 7-12 from the free throw line.

Lawrence was led by Megan Curtis with 11 points, while Alyssa Bourque had 8 points. Bourque and Curtis each had 2 3-pointers. Deleyni Carr and Hope Bouchard each had a 3-pointer. The Bulldogs were 12-21 from the free throw line.

Ellsworth opens the season on Tuesday, December 10th at home against Washington Academy at 7 p.m. That game will be broadcast on AM 1370 WDEA, on WDEA Internet Radio, on our free downloadable APP and on any Alexa enabled device.

Lawrence opens the season on Friday, December 6th at Cony at 6:30 p.m.
