Children React to the Subject of Violence Against Women [VIDEO]

I am appalled by the number of cases of domestic violence we have in Maine, and the cycle of violence. That's why I was so overwhelmed when I saw this video this morning. It looks like it was shot in Italy. The young boys are introduced to some young girls, and then are asked a series of questions, and directed to do a few things including making a silly face. Then, they are asked to slap the girls, HARD. The result, well, they look at the instructor like he's an alien, and I love their answers when they explain why they don't hit girls! "Because you don't hit girls" "Because I don't want to hurt her" "Jesus doesn't want us to hit others" "Because I'm against violence"  "The saying goes girls shouldn't be hit, not even with a flower, not even with a bouquet of flowers" and my favorite explanation why you don't hit girls? "Because I'm a man!"

Want to end the cycle of violence? Show this to your children and discuss it with them! Boy's shouldn't hit girls, girls shouldn't allow themselves to be hit! Men don't hit women, and women need to leave a relationship if they are hit!
