Frankie MacDonald was right! There's a big snow storm a'coming and the National Weather Service in Caribou has issued a Winter Storm Watch from Tuesday afternoon March 14th through Wednesday morning, March 15th for Southern Penobscot, Interior Hancock, Central Washington, Coastal Hancock and Coastal Washington Counties.

This includes the Greater Bangor area, Ellsworth, Bar Harbor, Cherryfield, Bucksport, Eastport and Machias.

The National Weather Service hasn't released snowfall totals YET, but a Winter Storm Watch means there's the probability of 7 or more inches within 12 hours or 10 or more inches within 24 hours.

Keith Carson at WLBZ 2 was predicting 7-13 inches for the Bangor area and 10-16 inches for Down East Maine Saturday night, but Tom Johnson has upped the forecast Sunday morning to 12-20 inches for the region.

We will keep you updated, but for now, it's a good idea to expect that there will be a pile of snow coming! Get your grocery shopping done, make sure you have gas for the snowblower and remember Spring is here on March 20th, at least according to the calendar!
