Versant to Begin Work on Route 1A in Dedham/Ellsworth Starting on April 4

Motorists traveling between Ellsworth and Brewer should be aware that beginning April 4th Versant Power will be replacing a 6-mile section of a transmission line that is in poor condition and reaching the end of it's life.

Maine State Police will assist with traffic control

The project is part of a long-term reliability improvement effort that began in 2018 and includes rebuilding most of the old line which is 23 miles long and runs from Veazie to Ellsworth. Some of the equipment dates back to the 1930's.

The upcoming line work in the Dedham/Ellsworth area is the last major phase of the project that needs to be completed.

Work is expected to be completed in mid-June.
