Tug White Awarded Game Ball

Back in 2009, Harold "Tug" White was named President of the Ellsworth Football League, being one of the men instrumental in bringing football back to Ellsworth High School. On Monday afternoon, Tug was awarded Ellsworth's Game Ball from it's first victory in nearly 60 years. The ball was signed by all the members of the 2015 Ellsworth Football Team.

White was an educator for the Ellsworth School Department, and retired in June 2004 after a 43 year career. White was also a teacher and basketball coach in Bar Harbor. Tug White also played basketball for Ellsworth High School for Coach Charlie Katsiaficas, on a team that won the State Championship in 1953.

On a personal note, I have had the opportunity to broadcast a few game with Tug White, and he has always shown me great kindness.
