Hurricane Dorian is expected to be a Tropical Storm when it impacts Maine on Saturday. Bar Harbor and Ellsworth will see rain with highs in the upper 50s. Winds are expected to be out of the Northeast 15 to 20 mph with gusts up to 35 mph.

However, there is a Tropical Storm Watch for Coastal Waters from Eastport to Schoodic Point out 25 nautical miles.  A tropical storm watch means sustained winds of 34 to 63 knots are possible due to a tropical storms withing 48 hours. Mariners should consider altering plans to avoid possible hazardous conditions. Remain in port, seek safe harbor, alter course and secure the vessel for severe wind and seas.
