The MDI Trojans fell to the Hampden Broncos 24-12 in an exhibition game on Friday, August 30th played at Alumni Field in Bar Harbor.

 

The game was scoreless until 3:17 remaining in the 1st half when Kaden Beloff 6. completed a 49 pass to Adrien Sholes. The 2 point conversion was no good and the Broncos led 6-0.

MDI scored on their next possession, when Baylor Landsman completed a 12 yard pass to AJ Lozano with 18 seconds remaining in the 1st Half. The Trojan's 2 point conversion was no good, and the score was tied at the end of the 1st half 6-6.

Hampden scored with 8:33 remaining in the 3rd Quarter when Will Dacey scored on a 45 yard sweep. The 2-point conversion failed, and Hampden led 12-6

MDI tied the score with 1:22 remaining in the 3rd Quarter. Jack Hodgdon completed a 20 yard pass to Dakota Dobson. The 2-point conversion failed, and the score was tied 12-12.

Hampden would score twice more in the 4th Quarter. Dacey scored on a 60 yard touchdown run with 11:53 remaining in the game and then Jay Willis scored from 9 yards out with 3:07 remaining in the game. In both cases, the 2-point conversion failed.

MDI opens the regular season on Friday, September 6th at home against the Stearns Minutemen. That game will be broadcast on WDEA Internet Radio, on our free downloadable APP and on any Alexa enabled device. The pregame will begin at 6:40 with the kickoff at 7PM.

Hampden opens the season at home on Friday, September 6th against the Lawrence Bulldogs at 7PM.
