
Thank You Chief- Chief Tupper’s Last Day January 8, 2021
Today, January 8, 2021 marks the last time that Ellsworth Fire Chief Richard Tupper will walk into the Fire Station as a City of Ellsworth employee and Fire Chief as he is retiring today, after 35 years with the Ellsworth Fire Department.
Chief Tupper joined the Ellsworth Fire Department as a volunteer in 1985 after his brother Walter had joined the Department. He accepted a full-time career firefighter position in January, 1989. He was promoted to Deputy Chief in 2006 and has served as Chief since 2011.
Firefighting is a family profession, as 2 of the Chief's nephews are volunteers with the City.
Chief Tupper is married to his wife Kelley and the two of have 3 daughters, Kimberly, Jennifer and Heather, a son-in-lay Kyle and 3 grandchildren, Abigail, Sophia and Rowen.
According to his daughter Kimberly, Chief Tupper is ready to enjoy woodworking in his retirement.
