The Ellsworth Boy's Basketball Team defeated Presque Isle Saturday afternoon, January 23rd at Katsiaficas Gymnasium, 71-46 and have now won 3 in a row.

The Ellsworth Eagles Girl's Basketball Team was nipped in double overtime on Saturday, January 23rd, falling to the Presque Isle Wildcats 50-46 at Katsiaficas Gymnasium in Ellsworth.

The MDI Boys defeated Presque Isle 59-41 on Friday, January 22nd in Bar Harbor, improving to 10-3 on the season.

The MDI Girl's Basketball Team was looking forward to Friday, January 22nd, ever since December 31st when they were embarrassed up in Presque Isle, losing to the Wildcats 80-57. The Trojans got their revenge, defeating Presque Isle 47-41 in front of a large crowd at Bernard Parady Gymnasium.

A year ago, the MDI Boy's Basketball Team won their first game of the season against Presque Isle, in Presque Isle. This year, the Trojans closed out the 2015 part of their schedule with a victory over the Wildcats, winning their 5th game, which is as many as they won in the 2014-15 regular season. The Ellsworth Boy's and Girl's Swim Team won their meet against the combined team of Presque Isle/Caribou/Maine School of Science and Mathematics (known as Carlisle) Ellsworth on Friday December 19th in Ellsworth. Earlier today, we posted the PVC Baseball All Star Team and the PVC Softball All Star Team. I wanted to separately post the All Academic Teams for the PVC because quite honestly, they deserve it! It's easy to forget that these are students, but that's exactly what they are, student-athletes, and they deserve all the accolades!

The PVC Softball Coaches have voted and the Penobscot Valley Conference Class B Softball All-Stars have been selected. The coaches voted for the girls, regardless of position.
