Sumner Girls Soccer Wins 1st Boys Remain Undefeated
Saturday, September 15th was a good day for the Sumner Memorial High School Soccer Teams with the Girls winning their 1st game of the season and the Boys remaining undefeated.
The Girls defeated Mattanawcook Academy 2-0 at home, with Emma Bunch figuring in on both goals. She scored the 1st goal unassisted and then assisted on the goal scored by Logan Overlock.
Sumner 1-2-1 is back in action on Monday, September 17th when they play at Bucksport at 4 PM.
The Boys defeated Narraguagus 14-2 on Saturday at home.
Damon Warren had 6 goals and 5 assists while Orlando Herrera and Caelan Billings each had 2 goals and 2 assists. Silas Goldfarb had 2 goals and an assist, with Eduardo and Sam Bunch each having 1 goal and assist .
Julio Hernandez and Gabriel Blomgren scored for the Knights.
Alex Rumill and Joe Patterson combined for 3 saves on 9 shots for the Tigers. Chase Izane had 11 saves on 36 shots for Narraguagus.
Sumner is now 5-0 and will play at Bucksport on Tuesday, September 18th at 4PM.
Narraguagus is 0-3 and will host Shead on Monday, September 17th at 4PM.
