Bianca Seavey Tucker of Sullivan, a senior at Sumner Memorial High School, has been selected to receive the 2025 Principal’s Award, Principal Amy Watson announced today. The award, sponsored by the Maine Principals’ Association, is given in recognition of a high school senior’s achievement and citizenship. Bianca is the daughter of Nick Tucker and April Seavey.

Principal Watson said "Not only is she a top academic student, she has also been actively involved in Sumner athletics with participation on the indoor and outdoor track team. Bianca has participated in student government and has served on the RSU 24 school committee as a student representative. She is a leader in the school and community. It is admirable that she completed more than 250 hours of community service over her four years of high school. Bianca is very deserving of this Principal’s Award recognition."

Bianca, Amy Watson and other award winners and their principals will attend an Honors Luncheon at Jeff’s Catering on Saturday, April 5, 2025 at 12:30 p.m. The Honors Luncheon recognizes these outstanding students with the presentation of an individual plaque and the awarding of ten $1,000 scholarships in the names of former principals and MPA Executive Directors: Horace O. McGowan, Richard W. Tyler, and Richard A. Durost.
