Sumner Boys Improve to 2-0 Beat Bucksport 49-46
The Sumner Boys Basketball Team improved to 2-0 on the season, after they beat the Bucksport Golden Bucks 49-46 in East Sullivan on Tuesday, December 11th
Bucksport jumped out to a 12-9 lead at the end of the 1st Quarter, but Sumner took the lead at the end of the 1st Half, 22-18, outscoring Bucksport 13-6 in the 2nd Quarter. Sumner led 36-30 at the end of the 3rd Quarter.
Sumner placed 3 players in doubled figures, with Colby McLean having 16 points, Ethan Young 13 points and David Allen 12 points. Sumner sank 8 3's, with Allen having 4 3's, Young 3 3's and McLean 1 3-pointer. Sumner was 7-11 from the free throw line.
Bucksport was led by Tyson Gray with a game high 17 points. Logan Stanley had 10 points. The Golden Bucks drained 5 3-pointers, with Ty Giberson having 3 3's, Stanley 1 3-pointer and Cam Grindle 1 3-pointer. Bucksport was 7-15 from the free throw line.
Sumner, now 2-0 plays host to Deer Isle Stonington on Thursday, December 13th at 6:30 PM.
Bucksport, 0-2 travels to Narraguagus on Friday, December 14th to play the Knights at 6:30PM.
