Strong Thunderstorms Expected Tuesday Afternoon

The National Weather Service in Caribou has issued a special weather statement for Downeast Maine as well as Central and Northern Maine

Strong thunderstorms are expected across northern and eastern Maine this afternoon. The areas of greatest concern are interior Hancock and Washington Counties.

The thunderstorms may contain hail greater than 1 inch and damaging gusts over 60 miles per hour.

If you hear thunder, you should seek shelter and head inside.
