Snow, Freezing Rain and Sleet Expected Downeast on Saturday
Mother Nature must not have received the memo that it's Spring! Downeast Maine can expect snow, freezing rain and sleet today, Saturday March 23rd.
The National Weather Service is advising that temperatures will rise to near freezing today across interior Downeast, then drop below freezing at night. Heavy, wet snow will become icy and water lingering from earlier rainfall will freeze. Power outages may increase tonight and travel will become hazardous.
The Bangor area could receive up to a quarter of an inch of ice with Ellsworth receiving around .21 inches. There will be little icing along the coast.
There are lots of cancellations. My best suggestion is to call and make sure your event is still happening before venturing out.
