Sammy is the SPCA of Hancock County’s Pet of the Week
Do you have any room in your heart and home for Sammy?
You may remember Sammy and his lifesaving fundraiser. Thanks to the generous people in Downeast Maine, the amazing community made sure Sammy got the care he needed, and now he’s available for adoption!
Sammy has been through quite the journey—he came into the SPCA of Hancock County after a serious medical emergency caused by a bowel obstruction. Unfortunately, he lost 8 inches of his intestines in the process. Sammy is lucky in that he can live a very normal life moving forward, other than eating a sensitive stomach diet.
Sammy is curious, so a fenced-in yard is a must to help keep him safe and out of mischief. He’s also a bit selective about his doggy friends, so slow introductions to other dogs are important. But don't worry—he's lived with kids and cats before and done just fine!
With his gentle soul and loving nature, Sammy is sure to bring joy, laughter, and snuggles to the lucky family who takes him home. Could that be you?
The SPCA of Hancock County is open to the public Tuesday-Saturday, Noon to 4 p.m. You can see all the puppies, dogs, kittens and cats available for adoption, as well as completing an adoption application by visiting their website HERE
