Reverse Advent Calendars for Food Banks and Shelters
Do you want to make a difference for local food banks and shelters this Christmas? Perhaps you might consider a reverse advent calendar and take the box full of goodies to the shelter or food bank on just prior to Christmas or after in the lull between Christmas and New Year.
What a great way to teach the littles that Christmas is about giving rather than receiving. If they have an Advent Calendar you know how excited they are to open the window or door of their Advent Calendar for that specific day! You can have them put the contribution in your Advent Box for the Food Bank or Shelter BEFORE they open their's!
What you need is a box, and then every day, December 1st through the 24th you put an item in the box. Here's what the Bar Harbor (MDI) Rotary suggested you put in your boxes when we first published this in 2018
