Dustin May started for the Red Sox and he lasted 4.1 innings, allowing 5 hits and 5 runs. He struck out 3 and walked 3. He gave up 3 of the 4 homers, dropping to 7-10 on the season.

Brennan Bernardino pitched 1.1 of hitless relief, striking out 2. Walker Buehler who was pulled from the starting rotation, allowed 2 hits and 2 runs, striking out 2 and walking 1 in 2.1 innings. He allowed a home run.

Boston's lone runs came on Nathaniel Lowe's 2-out pinch hit single in the 6th innings.

Ceddanne Rafaela had a double.

Boston managed only 5 hits and were 1 for 6 with runners in scoring position. Boston's batters struck out 10 times. in the game.

Boston is now 71-60 and in 2nd place in the AL East. They are 5.0 games behind the 1st place Toronto Blue Jays and a half-game ahead of the New York Yankees. Boston is on top of the AL Wild Card Standings.
