Red Sox Fall to Mariners 9-6 [VIDEO]

The Boston Red Sox fell to the Seattle Mariners 9-6 on Tuesday, September 1st, as Jedixon Paez lasted just 3.2 innings in his Red Sox debut.

Paez was hit hard, allowing 10 hits and 8 runs in 3.2 innings. He struck out 3 and walked 2.

Mickey Gaspar hit a solo home run in the bottom of the 1st inning. He has homered in back-to-back games and in 6 of his last 13 games.

Jahmai Jones hit a pinch-hit 2-run homer in the 0th inning. It was his 5th homer of the season.

Trevor Story was 2-4 with a double. He is 6-12 with 3 doubles and 3 runs batted in since being reinstated from the 60-day injured list on Sunday, August 31st.

Eli White his a 2-run double in the 7th inning.

Wilyer Abreu was 2-5 with a double.

Roman Anthony was 2-5.

Prior to the game the Red Sox made a series of roster moves:

• Placed Tyron Guerrero on the 15-day injured list with a right shoulder inflammation
• Recalled right-handed pitcher Wyatt Olds from Triple A Worcester
• Reinstated infielder Isiah Kiner-Falefa from the 60-day injured list
• Recalled left-handed pitcher Eduardo Rivera from Triple A Worcester and placed him on the 60-day injured list with a lumbar strain.
• Designated infielder Brett Harris for assignment.
• Selected right-handed pitcher Jedixson Paez to the major league roster.

Boston lost a game in the standings to both the Tampa Bay Rays and New York Yankees who both won on Tuesday.

The Red Sox close out the series on Wednesday afternoon against the Mariners with the pregame staring at 3:10 on WDEA AM 1370.
