There wasn't much if any good news out of Yankee Stadium if you're a Red Sox fan, as Boston was shutout 8-0 on Tuesday night, April 16th, and Chris Sale dropped to 0-4 on the season.

Prior to the game the Red Sox made a big roster move, designating for assignment Blake Swihart and recalling Sandy Leon from Triple A Pawtucket.

Sale went 5 innings, allowing 7 hits and 4 runs, all earned. He walked 1 and struck out 6. He also allowed another home run. Erasmo Ramirez who was called up from Pawtucket prior to the game when the Red Sox optioned Marcus Walden allowed 4 runs in 3 innings. He gave up 4 hits, 2 of which were homers.

Meanwhile the Red Sox only managed 3 hits all night.

The Red Sox are now 6-12, in last place in the AL East, 7.5 games behind the 1st place Tampa Bay Rays.   The Red Sox and Yankees will play game 2 of the 2 game series Wednesday night. Nathan Eovaldi heads to the mound for Boston. The pregame starts at 5:30 with the 1st pitch at 6:35 on AM 1370 WDEA.
