Please if you are using a generator, be sure that it is professionally installed and is not backfeeding into the system which can cause electrocution risks for the lineman and neighbors on your circuit. Generators should be completely ventilated so as to negate the risk of carbon monoxide poisoning.

Restoration Details:Restoration efforts continued throughout the overnight hours, despite harsh winter conditions which challenge crews working to reduce power outage numbers. Last night's snowfall made travel conditions difficult but overall crews are making slow yet steady progress. Just as some customers were restored several hundred new outages were reported overnight. More than 400 workers from Bangor Hydro, Maine Public Service and outside utilities converged on the service territory this week, working around the clock. More tree crews are expected later today.

Meanwhile, the restoration team is keeping a close eye on a potential weekend storm that could delay restoration times given the extensive damage to the system.

We ask that customers be patient as call volume is very high; however the call center is staffed 24/7 and employees are on standby willing to answer questions and offer advice and other assistance at any time. In addition, outage reporting and information is available at bangorhydro.com and the mobile site at bhe.com/m.

As field crews continue their work to restore service to every last customer, the safety and wellbeing of our customers and employees is also a big concern. Improperly installed and ventilated generators can pose serious safety risks to customers and utility crews. In addition, approaching crews working in the field or attempting to remove fallen power lines and trees near or touching them may present safety risks, so please avoid trying to handle these dangerous situations and allow our experienced crews to handle them.

Other Related Information:Customers may report any additional outages or ask questions by calling our Customer Service Centers at 1-800-440-1111 or 207-947-2414 at any time.
Estimated Time of Service Restoration:Although many customers will have power restored earlier, the following timeline is the expected restoration time for all power to be restored:
Washington County: end of day Saturday
Penobscot County: end of day Sunday
Hancock County: end of day Wednesday
Estimated Time of Next Update:11:00 a.m.
