High Winds Knock Out Power Around Bangor, Downeast

The number of customer outages in Emera Maine's service territory has been reduced from a peak of about 44,000 to about 3,000 after strong winds Saturday and early Sunday. 

As of 4:07 a.m., on Monday, there were 3,163 customers without power.

Wind gusts reached 40-50 miles per hour in some places.

If you see a line down or a tree in contact with a downed power line, call emergency responders and Emera Maine. Never try to cut a tree down that is touching a power line, and never drive over a downed line.
