According to Emera Maine - Strong winds and wind gusts throughout eastern Maine have caused widespread damage Thursday morning. Emera Maine crews are focused on ensuring public safety by first addressing reports of downed lines and then performing repairs. More specific information about estimated restoration times will be provided as the scope of the damage is assessed.

Mainers in Downeast Maine are waking up to rain, wind and darkness on Thursday, October 17th as the predicted Nor'Easter is impacting our area.

As of 6:50 AM on Thursday, there were 18,719 Emera Maine customers without power. You can view the outage and restoration report HERE.

The High Wind Warning is still in place until 12 Noon on Thursday

According to Emera Maine the majority of damage has occurred in Hancock County, and Emera Maine crews will be working to safely restore service as quickly as possible to all affected customers. In addition to a full complement of line crews, extra staff has been brought in for dispatch, customer service and other support services. Emera Maine's storm team has been making preparations for several days and will continue to ensure that response is safe, effective and timely.
