10 p.m. UPDATE - All customers have had power restored. According to Versant crews found that wildlife came into contact with some equipment.

Crews from Versant Power have been dispatched to determine the cause of a power outage affecting more than 5,300 customers in the Southwest Harbor area.

In addition to Southwest Harbor, service to customers in Tremont, Mount Desert, Swan's Island, and Cranberry Isles has also been interrupted.

For updated information about estimated restoration times, please visit Versant's Live Outage and Restoration Map.

For those wondering, the Southwest Harbor Fireworks are still ON for tonight, July 4th. They are set to be shot off starting at 9 p.m. tonight

While there aren't a lot of streetlights except in the center of Southwest Harbor, please be careful with all the tourists and the expected influx of cars, as Southwest is the only location offering fireworks tonight, as Bar Harbor's fireworks have been postponed until Monday, July 5th.
