The Ellsworth Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors have announced on Monday July 28th that Peter Farragher the retired Chief Executive Officer of the Down East Family YMCA would lead the Ellsworth Chamber of Commerce on a part-time basis effective August 12th.

Farragher will assume the role of interim Executive Director, replacing PJ Keenan who is stepping down for personal reason effective July 31st.

According to Ellsworth Chamber of Commerce Board Chair, Amy D. Boles "We welcome Peter as the new interim executive director and look forward to his leadership. Peter brings not only valuable experience but also a deep and long-standing connection to our community. We are excited to have him at the helm during this transition."

Farragher will focus on connecting with the Chamber membership. The Board of Directors has launched a search for the next director.

Farragher retired as CEO of the Down East Family YMCA in January 2023, having served there for 24 years. As a member of the Rotary Club of Ellsworth he recently helped spearhead the DeMeyer Field project. He also serves on the board of directors for The Grand.
