David Ortiz has lost his appeal of a one-game suspension for bumping an umpire and so he sits tonight in Toronto. The Sox will play Pawsox first baseman Travis Shaw against the Blue Jays and he will bat ninth.

The 25-year-old Shaw is a lefthanded hitter but off to a slow start in Pawtucket (.189 average with 2 HRs). He hit 21 homers last season in the minors.

Ortiz had his appeal heard on Monday by MLB. He bumped an umpire after getting into an argument on a check swing third strike call.

The Sox begin a 10-game roadtrip tonight. Hear the pregame starting at 6:20 on AM 1370 WDEA.
