MDI Volleyball Improves to 2-0 with 3-0 Win Over Brewer

The MDI Volleyball Team improved to 2-0 with a straight set 3-0 win over Brewer at Bernard Parady Gymnasium in Bar Harbor on Tuesday, September 8th. The set scores were 25-10, 25-14 and 25-14.

MDI Stat Standouts from Coach Walls

• Janiece Anderson: 7 kills, 1 ace, 3 digs
• Lanaia McDaniels: 7 kills, 4 digs, 1 solo block
• Kiera Young: 4 kills, 1 block assist
• Grace Sinclair: 1 kill, 2 aces, 1 assist, 9 digs

The MDI JV Team won 2-0 with set scores of 25-19 and 25-17.

• Melodie Jacobs: 8 aces, 1 assist, 2 digs
• Riley Torell: 4 aces, 1 assist, 1 dig
• Lily Trollip: 1 kill, 2 aces, 3 assists, 2 digs

The MDI 1st Team lost to Brewer 0-2 with set scores of 16-25 and 23-25

The MDI Varsity Volleyball Team, now 2-0 will play at Medomak Valley on Saturday September 12th at 12:30 p.m.

The Brewer Volleyball Team now 0-3 will host Washington Academy on Thursday, September 10th at 6 p.m.

Thanks to Hammond Lumber we are starting the Hammond Lumber-WDEA Downeast High School Athlete of the Week, for schools in Hancock and Washington County. You can nominate someone for games/matches played during the week September 7-12th. Voting will take place Monday-September 14th thru Thursday September 17th at 11:59 p.m. and the winner will be announced on Friday, September 18th.
