The Red Sox Foundation will introduce recipients of the Red Sox Service Scholarships during a pregame ceremony at Fenway Park before the Red Sox-Rays game tonight, Tuesday, July 30. The program awards high school students in each of the New England states outside of Massachusetts with $1,000 scholarships towards their college education based on demonstrated community service, academic performance, and financial aid eligibility.

2019 MDI graduate Olivia Watson and Sumner graduate Alexis Hutchins are 2 of the 210 graduates who have been awarded scholarships this year.

Before their recognition on the field at Fenway Park, the awardees will participate in a community service project in collaboration with Mayor Walsh’s office and the Boston Parks and Recreation Department. The group will conduct a #Trashtag Challenge to pick up trash in five different public parks and spaces throughout Boston, including the Boston Common, downtown Boston, Ronan Park in Brighton, the Victory Garden and Roberto Clemente Baseball Field in the Back Bay Fens, and Fidelis Way Park in Allston.
