MDI Softball Loses to Winslow 8-2

The MDI Softball team lost their prelim playoff game to the Winslow Black Raiders in Winslow on Tuesday, June 4th by the score of 8-2, in the match-up of the 7 and 10 seeds. MDI finishes the season at 8-9. Winslow improves to 11-6 and will play the 2nd seed, the Old Town Coyotes on Thursday, June 6th.

Haley Littlefield pitched a complete game for MDI taking the loss, allowing 8 runs, 6 of which were earned. She walked 2, struck out 1, and gave up 12 hits, including a two run home run to Ali LeClair with two outs in the bottom of the 3rd inning, with the score tied 2-2.

Megan Richards got the win for Winslow. She struck out 10 Trojans, allowing 2 runs and 6 hits. Richards retired 14 of the last 15 Trojans she faced.
